Teixeira previously fought for the title back in 2014, but lost to Jon JoneS.
Who is fighting in the co-main event of UFC 267?
Aljamain Sterling was originally set to defend the UFC bantamweight title against Petr Yan in the co-main event. Sterling and Yan fought for the title in March 2021, but the fight ended in controversy after Yan was disqualified due to an illegal strike. However, Sterling was forced to withdraw from UFC 267, and the UFC has booked an interim bantamweight title between Yan and Cory Sandhagen.
Why did Aljamain Sterling withdraw from UFC 267?
Sterling is not fully recovered from neck surgery and says he is dealing with nerve issues that have caused him problems in training. Sterling says he has had unusual fatigue and cramping in training and needs more time to recover from his neck procedure.
