Understanding NFL Odds and Betting Lines

Explore NFL odds, lines, popular betting events, and frequently asked questions with DraftKings for the 2026/27 NFL season.

What are NFL Lines and Types of NFL Bets?

NFL lines are the core odds available for an NFL game, including point spreads, moneylines, and totals (over/unders). Beyond these NFL lines, bettors can also choose from other NFL bet types, such as props, live bets, futures, and parlays.

On DraftKings, you can find a variety of NFL betting options before kickoff and, where available, during live games.

What are NFL Spreads?

NFL spread betting is a wager on whether a team will win by more than a set number of points or lose by fewer than that number.

A spread looks similar to this:

TeamSpreadMoneyline
New England-14.5-120
Kansas City+14.5+150

In this example, New England is favored by 14.5 points. A bet on New England at -14.5 wins if New England wins by 15 or more points.

Kansas City is a 14.5-point underdog. A bet on Kansas City at +14.5 wins if Kansas City wins outright or loses by 14 points or fewer.

The half-point prevents a push, or tie, against the spread. If the spread were New England -15 and Kansas City +15, and New England won by exactly 15 points, spread bets would be refunded.

What are NFL Moneylines?

An NFL moneyline bet is a wager on which team will win the game outright. The margin of victory does not matter.

A moneyline sheet might look similar to this:

Team Moneyline
New England-200
Kansas City+200

In this example, New England is favored at -200, meaning you would need to wager $200 to win $100 in profit. Kansas City is the underdog at +200, meaning a $100 wager would win $200 in profit.

If your bet wins, you receive your original stake back in addition to your winnings.

You can bet on NFL moneylines with DraftKings by visiting our NFL Odds page to choose a game that you would like to take a moneyline bet on.

What are NFL Totals (Over/Under)?

An NFL totals bet, also called an over/under bet, is a wager on the combined number of points scored by both teams.

For example, if the total is set at 47.5 points, an over bet wins if the teams combine for 48 or more points. An under bet wins if they combine for 47 or fewer points.

To bet on NFL Totals with DraftKings, find a game on our NFL Odds page to choose an over/under total for a game.

What are NFL Prop bets?

NFL prop bets are wagers on specific outcomes that are not necessarily tied to which team wins the game. Common NFL props can include a player’s passing yards, rushing yards, receiving yards, touchdowns, or the first team to score.

Some props are available for individual games, while others are offered for the full season or postseason.

What is NFL Live betting?

NFL live betting allows you to place wagers after a game has started. Live markets may include the game spread, moneyline, total, quarter or half betting, and eligible player props.

Live odds can change throughout the game based on the score, time remaining, possession, injuries, and other game events. Once a live bet is placed, its odds and potential payout are locked in.

What are NFL Futures?

NFL futures bets are wagers on outcomes that will be decided later in the season or postseason. Examples that you can bet on with DraftKings includes betting on which team will win the Super Bowl, make the playoffs, win a division, or lead the league in a statistical category.

Futures odds can change throughout the season as teams and players perform, but the odds for your wager are locked in when you place the bet.

What are NFL Parlays?

An NFL parlay combines two or more individual bets into one wager. Every selection in the parlay must win for the parlay to pay out.

NFL parlays with DraftKings can include spreads, moneylines, totals, and eligible prop bets from one game or multiple games. Adding more selections can increase the potential payout, but it also means more outcomes must be correct for the wager to win.

How Do You Bet on NFL Regular Season Games?

DraftKings Sportsbook offers a range of betting markets for NFL regular-season games. To place a wager, select a game and choose from available markets, such as moneylines, point spreads, totals, and eligible player props. Add your selections to the bet slip, enter your wager amount, and review the odds and potential payout before placing your bet.

NFL bets can cover the outcome of a game or specific player and team performances, such as passing yards, rushing yards, touchdowns, or sacks. For more information, visit our football betting guide.

How to Bet on the NFL Playoffs?

NFL Playoff betting gives you another way to follow the action as teams compete for a spot in the Super Bowl. As the postseason begins, you can place wagers on individual games using moneylines, spreads, and totals, along with a variety of prop bets based on player and team performances. You can also look beyond individual games with futures wagers, such as which team will win each conference or Super Bowl.

How Do You Bet On the Super Bowl?

DraftKings offers multiple ways to bet on The Super Bowl with the traditional moneyline, spread, and totals, you can find a wide range of Super Bowl prop bets covering individual players, team performances, and other outcomes during the game.
