The Boston Celtics are favorites to win the 2022/23 NBA Finals at +450 odds

The NBA Finals have concluded and the Golden State Warriors are the 2022 NBA Champions. The Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics in six games, winning three in a row after falling behind 2-1 in the first three games of the series. Steph Curry was named NBA Finals MVP, making it a series in which the favored team won and the favorite for Most Valuable Player won as well, though it was the first ever Finals MVP for Curry despite it being his fourth NBA Championship. Curry finished the Finals with a series-high 31.2 points per game while making over 48% of his field goals and nearly 44% of his threes.

NBA Finals odds are already live for the 2022-2023 season, and the Warriors and Celtics are both in the top tier of teams as oddsmakers expect both to be well positioned to duplicate their results from the recently concluded year. The Los Angeles Clippers are among the favorites as well despite having an underwhelming 2021-2022 season, and those odds surely hinge on the health of both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. The Brooklyn Nets roster may face some turmoil heading into the upcoming season but they begin the offseason in the top tier too.

NBA MVP odds are ready for the 2022-2023 season as well, and Luka Doncic opens as the favorite just like he did a season ago. Joel Embiid is right there with him after finishing as the runner-up in 2021-2022, while the two-time reigning winner Nikola Jokic rounds out the top three. Giannis Antetokoumpo, Ja Morant, Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum and Steph Curry appear to be early contenders as well, and the odds suggest that this could be a highly competitive race for some of the league’s most prominent stars.
